Christopher Hooper: incredibly feminine or like couldn't we didn't or had we we didn't really know anyone named Astrid so there's no like baggage or connection too too much other than the like uh Jasmine part of Jasmine's family is from like um the Netherlands and in that area. So, it's a little bit like

Um, and uh we need to get into the good graces of a a lord of uh Elderan who is hopefully going to hire us and that'll allow us to go into the city being able to carry weapons and magic items. U but there's an audition and we have to defeat these other mercenary groups. One of which was a bunch of fancy cats. I think there was like some rich f****. I think that those are the two I remember. Um, and

Tyram: uh, apparently the audition is going into this uh, temple where there's like this evil artifact being stored and we have to retrieve the evil artifact that attracts evil

Um, as you see various like sisterns that sit and and water those plants as they crawl up the walls. Um you see that the windows and doors are inlaid with um it's like walnut inlaid with rich uh like veins of gold inlay and uh they uh you see these massive huge massive doors wide open and inside you see you can just see these dim little like specks that clear that clarify into a gorgeous like open atrium of a huge candalabra. Um or or rather a uh Yeah, I think it's a candalabra. Um now, what is the glass uh light thing that chandelier? Chandelier. Um there's a delightful little like jalapeno bacon wrapped jalapeno with cheese uh broiled on it. Um yeah, lots of little like snacky things getting passed around. Um yeah.

Um, and you see, uh, you actually make out, I think you can only really call them group A and group B. Um, they are just like very run-of-the-mill looking adventure groups. Um, but a kind of seems to be, you know, they think that they're going to they're really chiming in about like their strength, their their finesse, how they're going to, you know, really delve deep. And group B seems to be claiming a cany can can uh a caniness and showmanship in a way that they are not necessarily like trying to emphasize their prow like necessarily prowess overtly, but like that they're kind of like they feel like the smartest ones in the room type of thing. Well, Lanna with that 30. This is all fake. They This is You see a highly choreographed uh scene between two groups that are trying to develop the story of a rivalry of like the jocks versus the nerds. Even though they're all adventurers, they're trying to develop a storyline for themselves and they clearly like they're working together. They might as well be 10 people uh in one group, but they are artificially trying to create this division. Um, you think maybe it's so that they can work closely but um, play it off as like a rivalry um, while actually helping each other through the obstacles and uh, potentially have an excuse to oh potentially through like Crossfire we take out another team who happens to be caught in in the in the melee. Um these people these people are working

And he says, "Welcome to Braticus Manor. This family, this fortune, the very boards and stones you are walking on were bought by the cold metal used to kill thousands of people. But when my father Satakus died, I took over as heir. And I wish to change that story. And that change starts with all of you. For before we had the heroes on the battlefield, but today we have the heroes that find the artifacts of the past. The heroes that advance our technology with the learnings that our forebears cast aside. And this I call you to action. The name of Bratakus will be known for adventure, wonder, splendor. Now open your packets and go forth. And at this point you now see that the butlers are now carrying around these um manila packets and handing them all to each of you. Uh you open them up and it is a basically a a docket of uh the um basically the welcome to Braticus Manor. A it's almost like going to like um like Monell's and they give you like a history uh like a a historical restaurant or something and they give you the history of the restaurant. you're like, I'm not really here about the history of the restaurant. I'm here to eat some food. Um, but there's like a full page of like this is how we got here. Um, and then there is a rough map to um what you now see described as a um a ruin. It appears to be a ruin of an old music library. Um, and it's uh a little bit to the um northwest. Um, and there's since been known a a shrine from it has artificially come um jettisoned through the earth itself. Um, they don't believe it's wrought by man. And a few details from it are that it um in the most lavish language uh describing that uh it um is overrun by monsters uh the

Christopher Hooper: paranormal ghosts um and will be highly treacherous um and then it starts signing off with though the most dangerous uh beings are not the monsters and the

Um and then there's about five to six pages of legal liability um information about how the Bradicus Corporation will not be uh liable if you are to suffer death um sickness uh were to miss work um or any uh it's not liable for any funds lost from um your inability to work. uh granted the event of a uh you know maming or um dismemberment um neither during travel in the uh ruin nor on the estate of Bradus itself um and there's a note about how Bradus has defined as an independent state and thus is not susceptible to um classic Eldoran laws um and thus uh any suit brought against Bradicus will not be um will not be viable in in Eldor in court but but in the court of a Bratus um uh

Christopher Hooper: purely um independent political entity like the Vatican. Um and so this is yeah you uh you you highlighted um a key aspect it what you know about this um just through your uh regional detective work research um you uh from what you've seen in the court of law um they usually have like if there are crimes that happen um to an Eldorian citizen inside uh like property of Bradicus court. Um it will go to a joint tribunal where uh judges from an Aldoran court and from the Bratakus council will seek to um will seek a joint decision. Um but if a joint decision cannot be made uh uh basically uh it there are split decisions that mean that may restrict your movement either in Bradicus core or Elderand. Um and so very few instances except like highly like economic um crimes ever get split decisions and they're usually like end up being like significant disagreements between contracts of the Eldoran Empire and the Bradicus Corps. um especially like um different types of like uh corporate espionage like stealing of documents, stuff like that. Um you actually remember one case that happened where a um a Eldoran um merchant um was running books for uh Bradicus um for a facility um out in the out in the docks. It was like a huge mining facility and uh they ended up like just keeping track of a lot of the um like different shipments. Just having the information about like the amounts of ore that they were extracting from the mine and the processing that were coming from it was is like highly valuable to the Aldoran uh empire as

Christopher Hooper: a way to like maximize the extraction and like understand the market. So uh this was one of the one of the examples that came to mind to you of like a split decision. Um, and now that uh that

Uh you see um to your right where most of the cars are right in the middle um there is a um androgynous looking figure who has taken their clothes off but naked and they are waving around their clothes um on a car that is on fire. Uh it is it is uh burning from the inside and they are hooting and hollering above it. Um, and you are the first out the

And so um at this point the distances are so far that they no longer um provide walking instructions but they provide instructions to drive in a car for the roads that they've like outlaid in the region.
