Toothy

Twilight Company Safehouse Keeper • Eldoran Capital

Overview

Toothy runs a Twilight Company safehouse in the Eldoran capital. It is room 238 on the third floor of an apartment building on the western hill, next to an old church that is now a community center, with a view over the barracks, the spaceport, and the Guilded Esplanade. George sent the party there in Session 58, and it has been their base in the capital ever since. As of Session 63 he is still keeping the safehouse.

The Safehouse

The apartment has six bedrooms around a common room, with a big window looking out to the sea, plus a shared kitchen and bathroom. The party got two bunk rooms, and the other bedrooms were already full of other residents. Toothy keeps snacks in the fridge and holds a family breakfast and dinner every day. Wake-up is at 7:00 and breakfast at 7:30, and he asks guests to contribute. On the morning of the Session 62 operations, he had a big pot of coffee brewed and plain buttery croissants ready.

Toothy is also the party's line to George. George cannot use a sending stone without being traced, so messages go through Toothy, sent a day ahead. George said he had been working mostly through Toothy and Finnegan.

Character

In the Session 58 transcript, the DM describes him as having big teeth. He is brusque and makes no claim to understand the operation: he says he "just runs this place," and of the bomb instructions, "I don't understand this" stuff. Silas judged him on his name alone. Toothy has one firm house rule: Victor does not stay there. "He stayed here once and he ruined his room."

Role in the Strike

Victor had sent a supply list and bomb instructions ahead through Toothy. In Session 58, Toothy pulled the page out of his pocket: a sheet torn from a religious text, with bomb instructions in the margins. He also asked whether George had mentioned the nitrogen on his supply list. The party's room was stocked with pressure-cooker pots, fuse wire, fireworks, dynamite, and gunpowder. Planning for the three-target strike ran out of his apartment. The Session 59 morning briefing with the private detective Ben Boulage was held there, and in Session 62 Silas and Finnegan planned the operation there.
