Luna
Moon Goddess • Once Mortal • Partner of the Dragon God Noraxis
Overview
Luna is the goddess of the moon. The Eldoran Empire shot her down with a weapon fired from its space station, and her 400-foot skeleton lay on a dry patch of seabed off Greyport, a place the party later named Luna Trench. Taco Cat brought her back. In Session 52 they packed violescence into her chest cavity and she took on flesh again. In Session 53 Leliana's concert drew the audience's belief up into a new moon in her name. As of Session 63 she is alive and gathering strength, and she has promised to help the party against the Eldoran Empire.
Background
- A mortal once: Luna says she was mortal and ascended to godhood to protect the people she loved, at the price of removing herself from the world (Session 46). Her features are elven.
- Noraxis: Luna and the dragon god Noraxis are partners, and "the mighty love of Luna and Noraxis" is a legend (Sessions 40–41). The Eldorans and the Order of St. George hope to use the weapon that struck her against him. Luna fears his rage over the attack, but believes she could turn it toward those responsible (Session 46).
- Astro: Astro, the void dragon sealed in Silas's orb, calls Luna "sister" (Session 41). Luna blames herself for not taking the consequences seriously when the dwarves imprisoned Astro centuries ago (Session 46).
- The fall: She describes the weapon as a massive white beam from a giant dish or bowl on the side of the Eldoran space station, which the party calls the "space bowl". She says it shattered her "in the weave" as well as in body (Session 46). Her crash site was a place of balance that gave her a "soft landing" (Session 40). By Session 56 the party reckons she fell more than a year earlier.
Restoring Luna
- The crash site (Sessions 41–42): The party found her glowing, winged skeleton at the bottom of a 300-foot ring of open sea, and heard her faint voice ask for help. Ohma threw a sending stone down beside her skull, paired with a stone held by Victor.
- Worship plan (Session 43): Silas proposed concerts by Leliana to direct the audience's worship to Luna.
- The pocket village (Session 46): Through Victor's stone, Luna reached the party inside the pocket village, whose place between dimensions let her take a small form there. Her first words: "I'm not dead yet."
- A deadline (Sessions 48–50): She was "mostly dead", with only about five percent of her restored, and she might not survive past May. Violescence could bring her further back.
- Resurrection (Session 52): Eldoran knights anchored chains and a portal into her skull to break her link to existence. The party cut the chain, and Silas stomped four crates of violescence into her chest cavity. Her body took on flesh, and a coral temple rose beneath her.
- A new moon (Session 53): During Leliana's acoustic benefit concert at Jasper's brewery, silver light rose from each listener and merged into a moon in the sky over Greyport.
Her Faithful
- Luna's followers live in the ocean city of Haiou (Session 46). The coral temple that rose under her matches the architecture of its lower reaches (Session 52).
- In the Eldoran back-country library, the party found three of her faithful killed about six months earlier. They wore crescent-moon amulets, and one of them carried Leliana's lost birthday card (Session 56).
- Silas designed a crescent moon symbol for her faithful to stamp (Session 53).
