Lady Viper
Human • Twilight Company Leader • Elizandra Legrand
Overview
Lady Viper is the founder and leader of the Twilight Company, a resistance organization she built over fifty years to strike against the Eldoran Empire. She operates from a retrofitted headquarters in Greyport under the cover of Richard Jones Investments. Her true name is Elizandra Legrand — a fact known only to Olivia, who uncovered it through a history check and chose not to reveal it.
Appearance
- Black masquerade mask
- A large cobra coiled around her shoulders (Mr. Slithers)
- Red and black floor-length coat that moves like a formal gown
- Brown hair in a precise bun
- Black leather gloves
- Smokes through a long cigarette holder
Background
The Eldoran Empire killed her entire family. She had been scheduled to attend a ball but fell ill and stayed with her aunt. That night, after the guests retired, they were killed. She was left alone, young, with a clear road ahead of her and a family fortune to fund it. She founded the Twilight Company roughly fifty years ago.
Plan for Eldoran
- Eldoran's power rests on religion — belief creates power, and they manufactured themselves into a religion
- Destroy their places of worship across the continent
- Destroy the spaceport in Eldoran's harbor
- Target their violescence caches — chain reaction could be catastrophic for the Empire
- The space station is out of reach; no plan for it yet
- Timeline: infiltration begins in roughly one week
True Nature (Silas's Insight — 28)
Lady Viper is not primarily a strategist. She is a person of immense charisma who gathers anarchists, misfits, and people hurt by the Eldoran Empire and steers them toward her personal goal of revenge. Her plan for Eldoran is meticulous. Her plan for after the ashes: nonexistent. This is not a political revolution — it is a grief project at continental scale.
Personality
- Extremely put-together in a way that is quietly intimidating
- Professional composure that isolates her — people treat her like a phenomenon, not a person
- Visibly moved when shown Luna's presence in the pocket village
- Capable of warmth beneath the mask — blushed when Elspeth fumbled through nicknames for her
Key Interactions
Session 47 — First Meeting with Taco Cat
- Met the party in her sitting room after a gauntlet of butler, dungeon habitats, and a seasonal password
- Outlined her plan for Eldoran; the party agreed to work with her while adding "finesse"
- Agreed to help with Luna's congregation logistics
- Was shown the pocket village and Luna's manifestation — visibly moved
- Notable flirtation with Elspeth throughout the meeting (eye contact, hand-touching during water service, blushing at nicknames)
- Told the party about the Goblin Enclave as a destination
Connections
- Twilight Company — Founded and leads the organization
- Victor — Former operative, now independent; sent to his lab after the meeting
- Mr. Slithers — Her cobra companion
- The Butler — Gaunt, impeccably dressed, deeply judgmental about fashion
- Elspeth Cooper — Mutual attraction noted during first meeting
- Olivia Cooper — Knows her true identity (Elizandra Legrand) but has not revealed it
Significance
Lady Viper is the party's primary ally for the Eldoran infiltration, but Silas recognizes the fundamental gap: she has planned the destruction without planning what comes after. The party will need to supply the vision she lacks — or risk being part of a continental-scale revenge project with no endgame.
"It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. I am Lady Viper, as I'm sure you know."
